JnC Music Centre

Teachers

Led by two senior educators with a combined teaching experience of over 70 years, our team consists of highly skilled trainers who dedicate themselves into transferring their knowledge to young musicians.
Most of our teachers have been students who were here with us since their childhood.
Some embarked on journeys to pursue even higher education in conservatories and universities before coming back, and some never stop learning at JnC Music Centre even after obtaining their Diplomas.

Josephine Ang

Piano Teacher

Marchelina Alensia

Piano Teacher

Having learned piano since the age of 4, Marchelina is one of the student-turned-teachers at JnC Music Centre. From her early childhood, she had always loved problem solving and art, and knew she would live her life doing them. That’s what brought her into studying IT and visual communication design, then graduated with a degree in Multimedia, all while continuing her piano study and passed ALCM with a distinction-level mark. Today, she still designs and also teaches piano, advancing from her first assistance in JnC’s music class more than 8 years ago.

Although quick to learn and had a good rhythm and aural capabilities, Marchelina used to have near-zero musical feeling. Switching from forte to piano like pressing a button, and making crescendo mechanically only because the score told her to—at least, until one eye-opening point, when her teacher met her with the right method and she was able to finally understand what she missed during those years.

Marchelina’s struggles as a student actually inspires her to teach music and of course, keep learning (she’s working on her Licentiate now). By learning, she will face even more problems, and discover new solutions as well. She aspires to help students to overcome their difficulties, by first understanding them and analyzing the needed steps to solve the puzzle. Then, translating them using the language the students would understand.
